Interpreting ...

Your virtual or hybrid event can be interpreted into as many languages as you want in combination with our professional interpreting platform. We are looking forward to your inquiry!

…is the oral transmission of a spoken text into another language.

Depending on the purpose and kind of event there are different types of interpreting:

Since October 2013 we are the first Austrian company which is certified according to Austrian standard D1202 for interpreting services and we exclusively provide our services in accordance with the regulations set up in this standard.

We are available at any time for any questions concerning which type of interpreting suits your event best!

Simultaneous Interpreting

...is the most efficient type of interpreting to present something in a different language with hardly any time lag.

You need technical equipment, however, e.g. one or more interpreting booths incl. interpretation systems and a technician; an almost unlimited number of persons can listen to the interpretation; no 'noise' through e.g. whispering of the interpreters (see whispering), since the interpreters are in a sound-proof booth; the time lag is negligible.

A tour guide system is a mobile alternative to the booth, however, it cannot be used in every situation.

Consecutive Interpreting

...is used for smaller audiences, meetings, etc.

The interpreters use a special technique of taking notes in order to be able to recreate the speech or question, answer, etc. in the target language. We would like to point out that this type of interpreting needs much more time, since the interpreter speaks right after the speaker and NOT at the same time, i.e. any presentation needs approx. twice as long.

Relay Interpreting

...is used in simultaneous interpreting when more than two languages are used.

Conferences always have one main language, usually the (official) language of the country it takes place in. This main language of the conference also is the common language of the interpreters into and out of which they interpret between the booths.

Example: The speakers of a conference have German, French and Slovenian as their mother tongues (please note our recommendation to all organisers: the speakers should always speak in their mother tongue, if possible.) The main language of the conference is German, since the conference is held in Austria. The interpreters interpret into French and Slovenian. If a French speaker takes the floor, the French booth interprets into German, the Slovenian booth takes the German from the French booth and interprets into Slovenian.

Thus all languages used/spoken at this conference are covered.

Whispering

...is used for a max. of 2 listeners.

The interpreter usually sits or stands right behind or next to the listener and whispers into his/her ear. This type of interpreting, however, means 'noise' for the persons sitting close to the interpreter and the listener and since the interpreter depends on the acoustics of the room, he or she also needs to 'filter' the speaker's voice against all the 'noise' the persons in the room make. Thus this type of interpreting is only used in very special cases.

A tour guide is a mobile alternative for more than two listeners and can be used for max. 20 listeners. There are only special situations in which it can be used.

Liaision Interpreting

...is used very often, especially at negotiations between potential business partners, meetings, project meetings, customer appointments, etc. After a question was raised or an answer was given the interpreter 'translates' into the other language.

NB.: this type of interpreting needs twice as much time than a single-language meeting.

Virtual / remote interpreting

If you want to organise your conference on site but want to stream it via the internet (hybrid event), or want to have it organised entiresl as a streamed, virtual event, you can have any language combination you want interpreted in combination with our professional interpreting platform. It is that easy!
